If you don’t know about Amina or the topless jihads world wide today I suggest you get googling, Amina Tyler is a 19 year old woman who posted bare breasted photos with the slogan “My Body is My Own and Not the Source of Anyone’s Honor” on her chest. She was arrested and sentenced to “100 lashes” and being “stoned to death”. She went missing and in response FEMEN activists are staging bare cheated protests. This image displays a man kicking an activist protesting outside a mosque. WAKE UP. NUDITY IS NOT A CRIME.

the world is insane right now this is fucking insanity literally.

Shame on that man

Scanners (1981) by David Cronenberg
Film still of Benjamin Pierce’s art; Connor Willumsen’s Criterion Collection artwork; movie poster *** I always forget how entertaining Scanners is, particularly the first 20 minutes. The premise is very “1980s,” as is its execution: corporate influence, yuppies in suits and shoulder pads, telekinesis, an “underground movement,” all wrapped in a sort of Cold War-through-a-Canadian-lens ethos. Cronenberg has always had a knack for generating creepiness and eliciting discomfort in his audience even in scenes where nothing particularly horrible occurs. And no one did over the top body horror—mingled with nerdy/cerebral moralizing—as well as he did during that period. This film predates The Fly, Dead Ringers, and even Videodrome, so for Horror fans who like to watch a particular director/writer’s work evolve, I think it’s a great place to start with Cronenberg (and a hell of a lot better than Shivers).
